Does anybody out there know of a session guitarist, based in
London/E.Anglia,
Named Colin Pincott? He is the most Monsterous Player I have ever seen. I
used to study with him, but now I have lost track of him, and would dearly
like to get in contact with him in order to thank him for all he has given
me. I am a session player in the USA now, where I am originally from, and am
studying here as well
Thanks for any and all help!
Bill E.
I similarly learned a great deal from Colin and have been trying to track him down to say thanks for several years. He is probably one of the best and least credited guitar players in the UK. Can anyone help with contact details? Many Thanks, Greg

Hi all.
I too would love to get in contact with Colin. One of the best guitarists ever! Saw him at the University of East Anglia with Mammoth. I had some lessons with him in Lowestoft (I live in Suffolk) around 1987.
To his brother in law - please mention Christmas trees and a former student Chris and a song Starting Over which he wrote. I loved to watch the faces of onlookers in pubs when he played and blew them away with his playing! I think Colin may have suffered from ill-health (me too) and lives in Ipswich. I hope I hear from him.

Hello my name is Leroy Osbourne. I took guitar lessons with Colin Pincott 35 years ago when in 1980 for a few months. I think I was around 18 yrs old. He was a huge man with long hair. A memory I've had permanently etched in my mind, is of Colin walking his little dog "Pinky." Quite the contrast! if you can imagine. I could tell he had a lot of love for that dog. He was also a great teacher. It was amazing to see a man with such huge hands, with fingers as big as sausages, play with such speed and finess. He used to tell me stories about playing with John Mclaughlin. If I'm not mistaken, he also recorded an album with him. Colin taught me 3 guitar performance tunes, Moon light in Vermont, Bluesette, and Misty which I still remember to this day. I still have his lesson sheets on modes too. (Ionian, Dorian, etc) I've always wondered whatever happened to him. He wasn't in that great a shape then. Is he still around? I do hope so..

I would love to say hello. I played piano and Hammond with Colin and Boz Burrell in 1968. I was then known as Peter Beagley, but afterwards returned to Australia, and changed my name to Peter Head .My email is ***@optusnet.com.au

Hello, Peter, and welcome.

The trouble with the NG is that most of the traffic has migrated over
onto its Facebook incarnation.

You'd be very welcome there too:

Hello, Marlene.

I'm sure you've already checked internet sources, but if you haven't
seen this one, it might help:

<http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Colin-Pincott/1042592495>

I don't want to dig into the site for myself because Colin's info is
obviouly nothing to do with me and I don't want to pry.

My friend, Bill, and I had lessons from Colin on how to play Slippin' & Slidin', in around 1963. He lived on the Gunton Estate in Lowestoft. We also met his brother, Roger, who played bass. They had a band called the Bluebeats and played locally in places like the Royal Hotel and maybe the South Pier.
